President Bola Tinubu has declared the 250-hectare Abuja City Walk as a catalyst for economic transformation in the Federal Capital Territory, saying the mixed-use development will open “a window to a multi‑billion‑dollar future.”

Speaking at the unveiling of the project’s sales office and experience centre in Abuja, President Tinubu — represented at the event by Vice President Kashim Shettima — described the development, sited in Lugbe along the Abuja Airport Expressway, as among the most ambitious private-sector investments in Nigeria’s history.

“On assuming office, we pledged to make the nation’s capital a global beacon of governance, commerce and modern living,” Tinubu said.

He said the City Walk, modeled on internationally recognized developments such as Dubai’s City Walk but adapted by local partners, will function as “Nigeria’s foremost gateway to the world” and push “the boundaries of architectural and engineering possibilities in Africa.”

NewsQuest reports that the project, planned as a mixed-use hub of retail, residential and leisure space, is intended to attract international capital and raise the profile of Abuja as a commercial destination.
