A governorship hopeful in Benue State Dr. Jeffrey Kuraun, on Tuesday praised the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leadership for what he described as fair and judicious handling of appeals stemming from the party’s recent National Assembly primaries.

In a statement, Kuraun said the APC National Working Committee’s decision to review petitions and “take corrective actions where necessary” had reinforced his confidence in the party’s internal dispute‑resolution mechanisms.

He also congratulated those who secured the party’s nominations for Senate and House seats, predicting they would be successful in the 2027 general elections.

Kuraun said he had filed a petition after the Benue governorship primary alleging “substantial non‑compliance with the party’s guidelines, denial of due process and other irregularities.”

He said repeated attempts by his legal team to present the complaint to the Governorship Primary Election Appeal Committee were unsuccessful, prompting him to escalate the matter to the APC’s national leadership.

“The National Working Committee has shown that no individual interest is greater than the collective interest of the party,” Kuraun said.

“By ensuring that genuine appeals receive fair consideration, the leadership has strengthened the confidence of party members across the country.”

Kuraun described the committee’s actions as evidence of the party’s commitment to transparency and internal democracy, arguing that fair hearings for aggrieved members would foster unity ahead of future contests.

He urged APC members and supporters in Benue and nationwide to “close ranks” behind the committee’s decisions and work toward victory in 2027.

The aspirant also lauded the APC leadership’s approach as “exemplary,” saying it would help the party grow stronger through adherence to justice and democratic principles.
