Tinubu took over when Nigeria needed him most – Fasoranti

President Bola Tinubu assumed office at a make-or-break moment in Nigeria’s history, and his reforms are starting to pay off, according to Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, the former secretary to the Ondo State government.

Dr. Fasoranti in an interview, praised President Tinubu’s handling of entrenched challenges.

“The dividends of democracy are visible for all to see,” he said.

“We’re not there yet, but with the reforms introduced so far, I believe we will get there.”

The former SSG pointed to the naira’s recent strengthening against the dollar as evidence of economic stabilization, alongside targeted efforts to curb insecurity—a problem he called “global.”

Dr. Fasoranti lauded President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for broad gains: “Clearly, no one has been left behind.”

He predicted victory in 2027, adding, “I am 110% confident… Another four-year term will further secure his legacy.”

Fasoranti, who resigned as SSG on April 3 after a 2024 appointment by Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, now seeks the Ondo Central senatorial seat in 2027. His pitch: better representation rooted in Afenifere’s Omoluabi ethos of accountability.

A physician with 15 years at Nigeria’s Presidential Villa, Fasoranti touted his Abuja connections and track record. “I am not a stranger to Abuja, and I believe returning there as a senator will greatly benefit Ondo Central,” he said. “We are not novices when it comes to delivering development.”

Under Aiyedatiwa, he said, the state is steady—but needs more federal support to lock in progress.
