Tinubu to attend G20 summit in India

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to attend the G20 summit in New Delhi, India as his government begins to promote foreign investment and mobilize global capital to develop infrastructure, the presidency said on Friday.

Special Adviser on media and publicity to the President Ajuri Ngelale said while in India, the government will provide a bit by bit daily update on the various presentation made by Tinubu during the summit. 

The President has embarked on reforms including the removal of subsidy on petrol and floating of the Naira, economic moves which experts say has brought additional hardship to Nigerians who are already dealing with a cost of living challenges. 

“The focus of the summit will be heavily predicated on the urgent need to attract foreign direct investment … and to ensure that we are able to mobilize private capital from around the world toward the development of Nigeria’s public infrastructure,” Tinubu’s spokesman, Ngelale told reporters.

He said President Tinubu will meet leaders from Brazil, India, South Korea and Germany on the sidelines of the G20 as well as Indian executives, including Jindal Steel and Power Company, among others,
