IGP Disu deploys senior police officers to key posts nationwide

Inspector General of Police (IGP),  Olatunji Disu has ordered the strategic reassignment of newly promoted senior officers across police formations nationwide. 

The decision is to boost operational efficiency, leadership and service delivery.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Police emphasized that the alignment with the agency’s goals for a robust command structure and optimal personnel deployment.

Among the appointments, several Assistant Inspectors Generals (Agis), were reassigned to headquarters roles in Abuja: Ado Emmanuel to Research and Planning; Joseph Eribo to Armament; Miller G. Dantawaye to Operations; Henry Ifeanyi Uche to Training and Development; Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo to Accounts and Budget; Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba to Legal Services; Ahmed Musa to Community Policing; and Haruna Olufemi to the Special Protection Unit.

Others include Simeon U. Akpanudom to the FCID Annex in Lagos; and Dahiru Mohammed to Zone 15 in Maiduguri, with Dankombo F. Morris to Zone 4 in Makurdi, Bello Shehu to Zone 14 in Katsina, and Olohundare Moshood Jimoh to Zone 2 in Lagos.

Commissioner postings span state commands and specialized units. They include Haruna Alaba Yahaya to Jigawa; Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola to Oyo; Yemi John Oyeniyi to Delta; Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun; Michael Adegoroye Falade to Ekiti; Yakubu Useni Dankaro to Adamawa; Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed to the Federal Capital Territory; Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai to Lagos; Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba; Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara; Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina; and Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto.

Additional Commissioners were assigned to headquarters and other roles: Betty Enekpen Otimenyin to Welfare; Aina Adesola to Training; Akan Ezima as Director of NPF-NCCC; Abbas Sule and Ajo Geoffrey Ordue to the Special Protection Unit and INTERPOL, respectively; Mnwadiogbu Cletus as Deputy Commandant of POLAC; Danjuma I. Yahaya to General Investigation at FCID Kaduna; Sheik M. Danko to FCID Lagos; Moses Ashu Otta to SWAT; Abdulrahim A.

Shuaibu to Eastern Ports Authority; Sarah Ehindero to Administration at FCID Abuja; Edwin Ogbegbghagha to Provost; Preye R. Egbe to INEC; Adebisi Bola Lateef to Master Printing in Lagos; Bolou O. Etete to Community Policing, Research and Planning; and Ojugbele E. Adebola to General Investigation at FCID Alagbon in Lagos.

The moves come amid ongoing police reforms under IGP Disu’s leadership.
