Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has commended All Progressives Congress (APC) members for conducting peaceful ward congresses across the state’s 276 wards, hailing the process as a sign of the party’s democratic credentials.

In a statement by his Technical Adviser on Media,  Publicity and Strategic Communications Solomon Iorpev, Governor Alia thanked delegates for their patience and tolerance, which he said ensured fairness and transparency.

The successful polls, he added, laid a strong foundation for today’s local government congresses in all 23 councils.

Governor Alia urged participants to shun violence and uphold unity, warning that security forces would act decisively against any disruption.

“The party’s strength lies in its commitment to democratic principles,” he said.

The Benue Governor expressed confidence that the local polls would match the ward congresses’ peaceful tone, calling on stakeholders to strengthen the APC in the State.
