Supporters of President Bola Tinubu are preparing to welcome him to Akwa Ibom State Friday, describing the visit as an opportunity to deepen federal-state cooperation and reinforce public confidence in his economic agenda.
The Akwa Ibom coordinator of Friends of Tinubu’s Reforms, Joseph Inokotong, said the President’s planned visit to Uyo on Friday, November 6, signals the federal government’s recognition of the oil-rich state’s strategic role in Nigeria’s development.
“Akwa Ibom occupies an important position in the country’s development aspirations,” Inokotong said in a statement issued ahead of the visit.
He cited the State’s location, natural resources and human capital.
Inokotong said the visit could open the way for greater collaboration on infrastructure, investment promotion, job creation and economic empowerment.
He also urged residents to give President Tinubu and his delegation a warm reception, describing the occasion as a chance to showcase the state’s hospitality and commitment to national unity.
Friends of Tinubu’s Reforms has positioned itself as a civic group promoting public understanding of the administration’s policies, including efforts to restore fiscal stability, attract investment and reposition the economy.
Inokotong acknowledged that the reforms have imposed difficulties on many Nigerians. But he argued that their success would depend on consistent implementation, clear communication, institutional accountability and public support.
“We believe that the Renewed Hope Agenda offers an important framework for rebuilding the economy and creating a more prosperous Nigeria,” he said.
“We therefore encourage our people to remain hopeful, constructive and supportive of efforts to move our country forward.”
The group expressed confidence that the president’s visit would be productive and memorable, and wished President Tinubu and his entourage a pleasant stay in Akwa Ibom.
