The Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s flag-off of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign has declared that Kaduna State is ready to host the president for the event.
Kaduna State Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe, who chairs the committee, disclosed after an evening inspection that the stadium’s holding areas, restrooms and pavilions were ready, with only markings for delegations from different states outstanding.
She added that security arrangements and accommodation are largely in place ahead of the event.
“I’m comfortable with what has been done so far,” she said.
Balarabe said state and federal security professionals had been involved in planning for the period before, during and after the rally.
Attendees will be screened before entering the stadium, she said, adding that authorities expect a large turnout from across the country because the North-West is a stronghold for the ruling APC.
“I’m comfortable with what has been done so far,” she said.
The event marks the formal start of the APC’s campaign for Tinubu’s second term.
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has already asked political appointees from the state to coordinate support for the president ahead of the launch.
Commissioner for Information Ahmed Maiyaki said mobilization was continuing and that hotels and serviced apartments in the city had been fully booked.
He framed the rally as both a political demonstration and an opportunity for the state to showcase its alignment with the federal government.
Maiyaki cited federal projects and appointments benefiting Kaduna over the past three and a half years, including the conversion of the Federal College of Education, Zaria, into a university; the planned conversion of Kaduna Polytechnic into a Federal University of Technology; the 122-kilometer Mando-Birnin Gwari road; and a proposed Kaduna light-rail project.
The rally, which will be held at the Kaduna Township Stadium, is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, and is expected to serve as the first major public test of the APC’s organizational strength as the 2027 election cycle begins.
