The National Chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday said that the party has made “collective accomplishment” over his first year in office and pledged more institutional reforms and electoral gains ahead.
Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, marking his anniversary on X, credited the party’s momentum to unity and the work of officials and rank-and-file members.
“It has been a year of immense responsibility, purposeful service and collective accomplishment,” he said, describing the past 12 months as a period of consolidation for the APC.
Yilwatda singled out President Bola Tinubu for “confidence, steadfast support and exemplary leadership,” and thanked members of the National Working Committee, Governors, elected officials and party stakeholders for their “commitment, sacrifice and belief.”
The APC National Chairman outlined a domestic agenda focused on internal cohesion and institutional strengthening.
Over the past year, he said, the party prioritized consolidating unity, fortifying its organizational foundations and promoting inclusion and accountability — moves he argued have reinforced the APC’s position as “the strongest and most formidable political platform in Nigeria.”
He also pointed to recent electoral victories as evidence of continued popular support, calling them “a testament to the confidence Nigerians continue to place in our party.”
Looking ahead, Yilwatda pledged to deepen internal democracy, modernize party administration and increase engagement with members in support of President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” policy agenda.
He said he intends to lead with “humility, fairness, transparency and unwavering dedication.”
“The journey continues, and I remain confident that our best days are still ahead,” he added, concluding with the rallying note: “One year completed. Greater victories ahead.”
