National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has praised President Bola Tinubu as a “shrewd and experienced politician” committed to growth through consultation, as the party gears up for a series of congresses.

Professor Yilwatda, made the comments after a closed-door meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting brought together Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kwara governor and Nigerian Governors’ Forum chair AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Imo governor and Progressive Governors’ Forum head Hope Uzodinma, deputy Senate president Barau Jibrin, House majority leader Julius Ihonvbere, chief whip Usman Bello Kumo, presidential chief of staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and APC national secretary Ajibola Bashiru.

In an interview, Professor Yilwatda said it was a “brief meeting to review convention and congress preparations” and foster synergy between the government, sub-nationals, the National Assembly and the party. With the APC’s ranks swelling from an influx of new members and governors, he emphasised inclusive planning.
