Former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, has accepted the post of Director-General of the All Progressives Congress’s presidential campaign council for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 reelection bid.

In a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, the administration listed President Bola Tinubu as chairman of the campaign council and Vice‑President Kashim Shettima as vice‑chairman I.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has been named secretary.

“I accept this responsibility with deep gratitude and seriousness,” Senator Yari said in the statement, thanking President Tinubu and party leaders for the appointment.

He described the campaign as “more than an election,” calling it “a conversation with the Nigerian people in every state, every language, every faith about the future we are building together.”

Senator Yari said the campaign would be run with “discipline, unity, and respect for all” and appealed for broad participation from party members and supporters.

He also urged Nigerians of differing political views to “choose progress over division,” adding that the campaign would seek to earn confidence through achievements rather than rhetoric.

“By the grace of God and with the effort of all of us, we will deliver victory in January 2027,” he said.
