Governor Ademola Adeleke on Thursday met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja where he commended him for what he described as a leadership role in preserving Nigeria’s democratic process.

Adeleke in an interview with State House Correspondents said that the outcome of recent elections reflected the country’s commitment to free and fair voting.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared incumbent Governor Adeleke winner of the Osun election having won 19 out of the 30 local government areas in the election held across the state.

Adeleke polled a total of 511067 votes to emerge victorious in the contest.

Speaking, Adeleke said “Yeah, that is why I am here to thank Mr. President, the father of the nation, because he fought for this democracy.”

Governor Adeleke said in brief remarks “That is why he allowed free and fair election, and that is the result. That is why I am here, to say thank you to ensure that democracy lives in Nigeria.
