Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo has begun airing a television campaign promoting President Bola Tinubu’s record in the sector, an early signal of the ruling party’s effort to position its 2027 re-election campaign around economic renewal and infrastructure.
Keyamo, is behind the 30-second series, “Tinubu Aviation Revolution Series.” His office said the spots, already paid for, will begin running on major television stations on November 1st and continue until shortly before the presidential election.
Keyamo was recently named director of the Directorate of Air Transport Mobilisation under the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council.
The unit is charged with coordinating air transportation and aviation logistics for authorized campaign activities supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The appointment places a sitting cabinet minister at the center of the campaign’s operational machinery.
His directorate is expected to coordinate air movements, travel arrangements and logistics across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, while working with other campaign structures and remaining subject to aviation regulations and electoral law.
The television series presents the administration’s aviation record as evidence of broader progress under Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
It also casts aviation as a driver of economic growth, tourism, trade, investment and international connectivity, and invites voters to judge the government’s performance.
Special Adviser on Media and Communication to the Minister Tunde Moshood in a statement said the short-format campaign is intended to take its message directly to the electorate rather than rely solely on policy announcements or official events.
He said the spots are designed to offer what the government calls a concise account of reforms and their contribution to national development.
NewsQuest reports that the launch comes well before the 2027 vote and suggests the APC intends to begin shaping the political narrative early.
Keyamo, a veteran of previous presidential campaigns, has previously served as a senior campaign communicator for former President Muhammadu Buhari and later for Tinubu’s 2023 campaign.
The move also indicates the political value of aviation in a country where campaign travel across distant regions depends heavily on air transport.
The campaign council has said its air-mobilization operation will emphasize planning, scheduling and logistical coordination, while keeping campaign arrangements separate from official government functions.
