A political support group backed by Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has begun a ward-by-ward mobilization drive across Ondo State, aiming to lock in grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The group, known as BTO4PBAT27 (BTO for PBAT ’27), says its “Unit-to-Unit Tour” will cover all 18 local government areas, 203 wards and 3,933 polling units in Ondo.
The Director-General of the group, Gideon Adojutelegan, said the effort is designed to move beyond conventional rallies by embedding organizers at the polling-unit level and maintaining continuous contact with voters.
The tour’s stated priorities include voter education and Permanent Voter Card (PVC) awareness; political reconciliation and community dialogue; strengthening the group’s presence in wards and polling units; and building sustained channels of engagement between leadership and local communities.
“Effective political organisation must have its foundation among the people,” Adojutelegan said in an interview in Akure. “Our objective is not simply to visit communities, but to listen, engage, build relationships and strengthen grassroots participation”, he said.
The group, he added, has set an explicit goal of securing 90% of Ondo’s presidential votes for Tinubu in 2027, describing the target as central to its political strategy.
It says achieving that will require coordinated work with party members, community leaders, youths, women and other stakeholders across the state’s local councils.
In parallel, a related coalition platform backed by the Minister has said it is working to deliver more than one million votes for the President in Ondo, underscoring the scale of the mobilization effort.
Adojutelegan credited Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s “leadership, guidance, trust, encouragement and continued support” as key to the group’s organizational strength and expansion in Ondo.
The Minister is formally recognized as the group’s grand patron and principal sponsor, with organizers saying his backing has motivated members to intensify activities ahead of the general elections.
“We formally place on record our profound appreciation for his leadership, ”Adojutelegan said, adding that the group remains committed to conducting its work “with discipline, responsibility and respect for the people and institutions we engage.
The group says its activities are intended to promote unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and to rally support for all duly nominated APC candidates in Ondo for 2027.
The group had previously condemned what it described as attacks on the Minister and urged the party to focus on consolidating gains, supporting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration and mobilizing effectively for the President’s re-election.
By anchoring its operations at the polling-unit level and emphasizing reconciliation and dialogue, BTO4PBAT27 is positioning itself as a long-term grassroots machine for the APC in Ondo, rather than a short-term election vehicle.
