Former heavyweight title challenger Derek Chisora has predicted fireworks when Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury finally meet in Cardiff on December 11.
The long-awaited all-British clash will take place at the Principality Stadium and will be streamed live on Netflix.
Fury, 38, and Joshua, 37, have both faced criticism that the fight has come years too late but Chisora disagrees.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the 42-year-old, who lost three times to Fury and is yet to fully commit to retirement after his April defeat to Deontay Wilder, insisted the timing is perfect.
“I speak to him every Friday after his week of training camp,” Chisora said of Joshua.
“I send him a message asking him how it was, and he says he is killing it. Whatever happens, it is going to be an exciting fight.
“I am so excited about it. We are not getting it too late; it is at the right time.”
Joshua goes into the bout as the underdog. He stopped Jake Paul in the sixth round in December 2025 and halted Kristian Prenga in July after being floored in the first round, performances that fell short of his peak.
Chisora, however, believes Joshua’s power remains his biggest weapon.
“AJ has to knock him out in the first six rounds” he said, adding that “After that, it is a long night, but AJ has the power to knock out Tyson any round”.
He expects Fury to respond by raising the tempo and relying on his stamina.
“He has the endurance to sustain it for 12 rounds, and throw a higher volume of punches,” Chisora added.
