Benue partners UBEC national digital resource center to boost school learning

The Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has begun a collaboration with the National Digital Resource Center of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), for a shared vision of nurturing a generation of digitally literate and empowered learners.

Chairman of SUBEB, Dr. Grace Adagba stated this recently when she hosted the National Coordinator of UBEC center, Professor Bashir Galadanci when he paid a working visit to Makurdi. 

Akese Emmanuella, information officer of SUBEB, in a statement said, Professor Galadanci also visited the UBEC/SUBEB Model Smart School Adaka located in Makurdi.

Speaking at the event, Dr Adagba appreciated the collaboration and synergy between UBEC and SUBEB in advancing educational initiatives.

The SUBEB chairman reaffirmed the State Government ‘s commitment towards ensuring the sustenance of the Smart School, explaining that the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia was working assiduously towards providing school buses to ensure access to Education for all learners regardless of their proximity to schools.

Dr. Adagba therefore, urged parents to take advantage of the free ,basic and quality education available at the Smart School and enroll their children.

In his remarks, Professor Galadanci lauded the efforts of the SUBEB chairman and her management team as well as Teachers in the State in embracing digital resources to enhance the learning experiences of learners. 

He said, he was in the State to interface with the management and Teachers of the UBEC / SUBEB Model Smart School Makurdi to review activities of the just concluded academic term, share success stories, achievements and challenges of the school with the aim of seeking solutions to them. 

Professor Galadanci  said, Learners need 21st century skills and knowledge to enable them compete with their counterparts worldwide. He expressed hope that, with time, all children of Nigeria will get high quality smart education that they deserve.

Highlights of the visit were inspection of infrastructure and digital tools at the school by The National Coordinator Digital Resource Centre UBEC Abuja.
